Phil King released his debut album "Leaves" in Nov 2006. It received some fantastic press, both regional and National. (see reviews page). He has performed all over the UK, including at some fantastic festivals including Glastonbury Fest, Bestival, Guilfest, Ashton Court Fest, The Sunrise Celebration, Priddy Folk Fest, Cheltenham Jazz Fest, Bath Fringe, Trowbridge Pump Fest and Bristol Harbourside.
He has supported many touring artists, including Amp Fiddler, Kate Walsh, Jon Allen, Foy Vance, Karima Francis, Emmy the Great, Ruby Turner, Chris Farlowe and Tina Dico, and has been lucky enough to share a stage with many other great artists including Beth Rowley and Alice Russell. Phil has had his music played on many local radio stations and also by Bob Harris, Steve Lamacq and Alex Lester on BBC Radio 2.
He also plays regularly with The Forster King Band, which he founded with Guitarist James Forster in 2004. They released an album "Keep The Music Playing" in Oct 2006, which features 5 original songs written by Phil and James alongside their favourite covers by the likes of BB King, Dr John and Muddy Waters.
He also performs with Backyard, an RnB Soul band which he formed with multi-instrumentalist Gary Alesbrook in 2005. They released a CD "These Are The Ways" in 2007, featuring 6 original tracks written by Phil and Gary.
Look out for Phils Voice on a Tru Thoughts release, as a featured vocalist with Bristols own Unforscene. The album is called "Fingers and Thumbs" and is available on itunes.
